Early life and diagnosis of Madeyewlook
When she was 13 years old, she was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes, making her life much more difficult. Apart from her fear of needles, which she had to overcome, it made her school life more challenging. As people, especially children, don’t always understand what is involved in being a diabetic, she was bullied. Kids assumed she just couldn’t eat candy and that she faked her symptoms while visiting the school nurse many times a day. Since stress made her symptoms even worse, she completed her senior year of high school, learning from home. Despite these complications, she graduated with a degree in cosmetology and esthetics. She managed to accomplish all of that before the age of 19.

Right after school, in September 2011, she created her YouTube channel. By watching only her first few videos, it was clear that she is incredibly talented when it comes to makeup. As she was easily capable of completing various makeup looks, from basic to advanced, she got curious about what more can she achieve. She had found her answer in body painting. At first, she learned how to properly apply face and body paint, then moved to liquid latex and Special FX, used mainly in movies. Viewers were amazed by her rendition of horror movie characters and amused by watching Instagram filters come to life.

In 2021, she made a video stating that she had been diagnosed with skin cancer. Luckily it was in an early stage and surgically removable, but it was still clearly a shock. In the video, Alexys explained to her audience the whole process, the diagnosis itself and how it affected her. She also urged her followers to get their skin checked regularly because it could save their life one day, as it saved hers. This message is very important, so Twitch featured this issue on billboards to raise awareness even more.
In 2020, Lex (as called by followers) launched her own line of body paint. These paints are fragrance-free, cruelty free and activated by water. Alexys was really excited by this since it was a dream of hers, and her customers were not disappointed. These paints are a great hit and got reviewed by many influencers and possibly encouraged many people to try body painting themselves.
