What is Magical Doll?
Magical Doll is a group of small, animated dolls or figurines who became Virtual YouTubers. They started their YouTube channel on January 17, 2018, and began their activities on March 8, 2018. The dolls are named Miyabi Matsuri and Miyabi Yukiha . Later, a new doll named Miyabi Sakura joined them on June 13, 2018. The final lineup was completed with the addition of Miyabi Kureha on July 14, 2018, and Miyabi Ichika on August 24, 2018.
What sets Magical Doll apart from other Virtual YouTubers is that they joined the Japanese multi-channel network UUUM on July 25, 2018. UUUM is known for promoting conventional YouTubers without avatars. Magical Doll was the first group of Virtual YouTubers to be endorsed by UUUM, rather than an exclusive VTuber agency.
History of Magical Doll
On February 28, 2019, the members of Magical Doll announced a hiatus in their VTuber activities, marking it with a farewell stream on YouTube the same day. The dolls live in an antique shop and come to life with magic. They are small and can stand on the palm of a hand. Each of them costs 198,000 JPY (approximately $1807), and they are dedicated to bringing happiness to their owner or "Master." All the dolls share the surname Miyabi (雅; elegance) because they are considered sisters.
Initially, the first two Magical Dolls shared a single Twitter account, which served as the official account for the project. Later, each doll was given their own Twitter account, and the first account is now managed by Matsuri.
