The early life of Jessie Graff

Growing up, Jessie participated in a variety of sports, including gymnastics, pole vaulting, and martial arts. Her early exposure to a diverse range of physical activities laid the foundation for her future success as an all-around athlete. The activity that changed her life for good was definitely gymnastics. Her parents signed her in when she was just 4 years old, and Jessie fell in love with it.

Even as a child, she loved researching the limits of her own body, soon becoming the top of her class. She was not only really flexible, as usual for young gymnasts, but she was extraordinarily strong. Jessie was able to hold her whole body weight with extra weights on her arms and ankles with no visible struggle. At that time, her parents realised that they didn't raise any ordinary child.

Jessie Graff as a circus gymnast

When she was little, Jessie went to watch a show by Big Apple Circus. She loved watching the acrobats climbing to the roof and free-falling back to the stage. After just one performance, Jessie was sure that she wanted to perform in the same circus and asked her parents for permission. As they didn't want to be the ones to crash their daughter's dreams, they said yes and asked for a conversation with the person responsible for hiring. Unfortunately, they turned Jessie's application down.

While she didn't succeed on the first try, Jessie was already determined on her next goal. She began asking her parents to sign her up for some advanced classes so she could fulfil her dreams. Her parents were hesitant at first because it all looked a lot dangerous. But once they talked it through, they realised that they didn't want to be the ones standing in their girl's way. The day after, they signed Jessie up for advanced circus gymnastics classes. While her parents anticipated her to lose interest, Jessie's passion for physical training only grew stronger. After a lot of training, Jessie realised that she wanted to excel at other physical activities as well.
