Ashley Strong is an African American makeup artist who is active on YouTube, Instagram, TikTok and other social platforms. She was born on 5th August 1991, in Anchorage, Alaska. She is known for posting makeup-related videos on her YouTube channel Strashme.
Early life and background of Ashley Strong
Ashley had a hard time finding her own space when growing up because she came from a big family. She has five siblings, which made it really hard to find some peace and quiet. Her father advised her that hyper-focusing on some activity might help her calm herself in stressful times. Ashley tried drawing and fell for it in no time. Her drawings also helped her to get some attention from her mother, who was always overwhelmed by work. Even later, when she became a makeup artist, she never forgot about drawing. Ashley is a certified makeup artist but hasn’t revealed where she got her education.
After finishing her education, Ashley found a job at MAC Cosmetics store, where she hoped to improve her makeup skills. She went through a few different positions and worked with a lot of clients. Besides her obvious talent, she brought that shocking effect with her bold eyeliner looks and sculpted eyebrows. She loved to create unexpected looks with eyeshadow above her eyebrows, playing with every colour of the rainbow. She was able to precisely draw her eyebrows so that it seemed like she glued them on.
One of her longest YouTube series is Get Ready With Me. In those videos, Ashley talks with her audience and does her makeup at the same time. She explained how she does her perfect eyebrows, how to operate liquid eyeliner and how to apply false eyelashes. Besides these usual tricks, Ashley became great at imitating TikTok and Instagram filters. Instagram and TikTok are full of free-to-use face filters, which seem almost impossible to copy. Ashley knows her way with colours and taught her followers how to draw these filters straight on their faces.

Being as talented as she is, Ashley got an invitation to participate in a YouTube reality show hosted by James Charles. The show is called Instant Influencer, and it is all about makeup and beauty. Participants were supposed to create their best looks using given makeup products. The rules were pretty simple: Participants are judged based on their creations, and one of them is eliminated in every episode. Ashly worked hard and eventually won the whole show as the most talented influencer.
