Nikita Dragun

Who is Nikita Dragun?

Nikita Dragun is an American beauty influencer active on YouTube, Instagram and other social platforms. Her real name is Nikita Nguyen, and she was born on 31st January 1996 in Belgium. She comes from a family of Vietnamese and Mexican descent. After high school, she attended The Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising in Los Angeles, where she graduated with a degree in Business.

Nikita's early career

Nikita came out as a transgender woman when she was a teenager. Since childhood, she has been interested in beauty, fashion and design, which she honoured by her education. She became a self-made makeup artist because of her interest in makeup since she was young. In 2013, she created her YouTube channel, previously called NycDragun, and started to post beauty-oriented videos. She stated that she was approached by a few cosmetics brands at the time, which pushed her to take her YouTube career seriously. She had her Instagram account since 2012, but due to this realization, she began to focus more on her content and post photos more regularly.

Nikita Dragun's journey as a transgender woman

In 2015, Nikita came out as a trans-woman on social media, and since people not only accepted but supported her, she filmed a few more videos on that topic. She talked about her journey from the beginning, and her viewers were excited and wanted to learn more. Nikita reacted by creating a whole series on the topic called TRANS-formation. In this series, she covered every part of transitioning to woman, including her family's reaction. She wasn't ashamed of her past and filmed a few videos reacting to her photos from childhood, where she appeared as a boy.

Nikita lived through all the stages of becoming a woman and knew first-hand how challenging and scary it is. Therefore she decided to help other confused teenagers, as she once was, and lead them through each step of the way. One incredibly intimidating part includes plastic surgeries. Those aren't mandatory, of course, but many transgender people go through them to look as close to their wanted body as they possibly can. It may seem that the only needed surgery consists of breast augmentation, but there are plenty more. Nikita talked about her breast surgery, explaining everything that must be figured out beforehand, the surgery itself and post-op care, which is as much important. She also informed her audience of her facial surgery and four nose jobs altogether, which she underwent in order to make her face appear more feminine, even without makeup.

Nikita Dragun vs. Victoria's Secret Fashion Show

Throughout her social media career, Nikita faced some accusations and obstacles from other people, sometimes even famous ones. Ed Razek, a chief marketing officer of L Brands, stated that trans women shouldn't be participating in Victoria's Secret Fashion Show. Nikita tweeted a video of herself wearing lingerie and argued that trans women are more than capable of presenting revealing clothes. Her response went viral, and people from all over the world supported her statement and chose her to be the voice for transgender people.

Dragun Beauty

Because of this incident and others, she decided to create her own makeup line, which will be targeted at the transgender community. She felt that people like her weren't represented enough in the beauty industry and wanted to change that. Her brand was called Dragun Beauty and was created in 2019. The first created line sold out in one night and proved that she made the right move. The brand sells a variety of makeup products, all wrapped up in fancy packaging. The products are delivered in purple dragon's egg, the signature sign of Nikita's brand.

Personal life of Nikita Dragun

Nikita's personal life is a hot topic of disscussion on the internet. In the summer of 2020, she appeared in many photos with Tony Lopez. They were viewed as a couple, especially by the TikTok community, but the news seemed to be false after she posted several pictures with an unknown man. Since people on social media could beat the FBI when it comes to drama, they figured out who it was in no time. His name is Chase Stobe, and after the reveal, he confirmed this information on his Instagram.

Nikita's controversy during the Covid-19 pandemic

During the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020, a lot of influencers across the United States got in trouble by breaking preventive laws. Nikita and others apologized on their social platforms and promised that it was a one-time thing.

Nikita's appearance on TV reality shows

Nikita is an extroverted individual who is always down for some drama. Therefore, she naturally agreed when presented with the opportunity of participating in a reality show. She was a star participant in not one but two reality shows. In 2019 she appeared on an episode of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills as Kyle. The episode was called The Show Must Go On. In 2022, she participated alongside other social influencers in the reality show Hype House.
