Even though he started playing video games long before that, Zack worked a few regular jobs at a time. He found his first long-time job at the Internal Revenue Service, usually known as the IRS. He learned how to do the job pretty quickly and could enjoy the perks of working for the government. Eventually, Zack quit there a year after and went looking for another job. His next destination was called Sam’s Club, which is a membership-only retail chain. Even though they don’t hire just anyone, Zack found out that he hated the job as soon as he got there. He managed to keep trying for a week before quitting on short notice. Even though he struggled at some points in his life, Zack never came back to any regular job.

While playing and knowing other games before, Zack was introduced to World of Warcraft by a friend of his in 2006. He tried to play it for a while and instantly became hooked by the game. Since he had time while studying, Zack started playing Wow almost all the time, whether it was day or night. His mum noticed that he enjoyed it that much and bought him the first expansion, which she even played alongside him. Zack became obsessed with the game and wanted to play it constantly, figuring out new game plans and strategies.

His online career unofficially started in 2009, when Zack created his first YouTube channel under the name ZackRawrr. His goal was to upload videos about Wow from the beginning, but he wasn’t sure about the context. He began watching other creators who made videos on Wow and became confused. He noticed that the other creators didn’t know the game nearly as well as he did and, therefore, couldn’t offer any useful advice. Zack took this responsibility upon himself and started filming Wow-themed educational videos with actually useful advice. And what made Zack qualified enough to post such videos? There were two things that made him realise that he needed to make more money to get by. The first problem was Zack’s dentist, who was more than happy to fix Zack’s dental problems, but for enough money. And as it turned out, dental work as big as this cost a small fortune, which Zack, unfortunately, couldn’t afford at the time. The other reason Zack needed more money was the fact that he was currently taking care of his mother.
In the beginning, Zack stayed online basically 24 hours a day, streaming day and night just to make more profit. He had only a little sleep, and his mental state was getting worse, but it was working. People began appearing on his streams because of algorithms or pure interest and stayed for Zack’s knowledge and genuine personality. Zack made enough money to get his life together, and after some more time, he started making big sums of money. His dental problem pushed him to start a twitch account, which became one of the most popular in the gaming world.

Zack lived with his mother most of his life, and he cared for her very much. Even when he was young, he remembers his mum smoking cigarettes and eating junk food. He learned about the side effects of smoking when he was very young and couldn’t understand why his mom wouldn’t stop it. Even though he tried to get her to stop, Zack’s mother kept smoking her whole life. Eventually, smoking gave her a condition called COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease), which caused her a lot of trouble. Diseases like this get worse with time, and it was the same way for Zack’s mother: Her complication and her overall state got worse and worse as she got older.
After a few years, his mom went to the hospital for the first time since she got the disease. Zack saw it as another chance, and when she got back, he tried everything to make her change her lifestyle. He planted trees in their garden by himself with the hope that it would make her want to go outside more, but it didn’t work either. Eventually, things got so bad that Zack had to take care of his mom full-time, which was one of the reasons he started streaming in the first place. That way, he could be close to her even when he was working. Zack just couldn’t bear the thought of leaving her alone in case she needed his help.
In 2021, Zack’s mom was constantly staying at home, with a need to be close to an oxygen machine. At that point, Zack was doing everything in the house, starting with cooking and ending with cleaning. His mom, unfortunately, didn’t stop smoking even with this severe health problem. One day, Zack heard noise from his mom’s room, and when he came to check on her, he found her room on fire. She smoked a cigarette with the oxygen machine on and it caused a fire. Zack called an ambulance, which came and quickly transported his mom to the ICU. She was there for a few weeks when the doctors told Zac that her condition wasn’t treatable anymore. Zack lost his mom a couple of days after that. He took some time off of the internet to grieve and later posted a video where he talked about his mom’s life.

Even when his Twitch and YouTube channel got profitable, Zack’s lifestyle didn’t seem to change. He was still streaming from the same room, sitting on the same chair and drinking a random soda. Eventually, people started asking questions about the money, specifically where did it all go. Zack made a video and posted an explanation because he got bored of all those speculations. He stated that he liked the money because it allowed him not to worry about material things. He enjoyed the money because it meant that he could easily replace any of his belongings without stress.
At some point in Zack’s career, the internet started discussing his lifestyle. There were some photos of Zack’s room circling around the internet, showing that he was living as a 12-year-old. His room was filled with unfinished junk food and a number of soda drinks and chips all around. His room looked like a hoarder’s room, uncleaned for an alarming amount of time. Zack also revealed that he was used to eating junk food every day, even though he had the money to eat better. Influencers and streamers made it into a challenge where they tried living like Asmongold for a week. Zack himself stated that any normal person who would eat his diet would die.
King of World of Warcraft
Besides his interesting living conditions and questionable diet, Zack always knew how to engage with his audience. Once he built a name on Twitch as one of the best World of Warcraft streamers, Zack began building his community. Because of his good advice, his knowledge and great storytelling, he counted millions of fans around the world. He became so powerful that once he started streaming Final Fantasy, the game’s sales went up.
